Art comes in many forms. Marna’s early art form was in Fashion Design. In college Marna earned a Fashion Design scholarship. Her Fashion design creativity and uniqueness won her numerous awards in Art & Design.

Marna now dedicates herself solely to visual art. Marna’s ingenuity allows her to give life to a blank canvas, reflecting the energy of the colour palette that most appeals to her. Her world travels, Europe and Africa particularly, inspire Marna to use bold and unconventional colour schemes and topics. Recent travels to the Arctic to photograph polar bears inspired a new collection of works.

Adding a personal touch to portraits is one of her favourite things. Very much at ease with abstracts, her shapes and colours are innovative. Her love of flora and fauna is reflected in her bold and vibrant landscapes. Visible in her works is Marna’s diversity and extraordinary colour palette which reflect her warmth and sophisticated personality.

Originally from Ontario, Marna and her husband David Laws, their 6 children and 9 grand-children now call Calgary home.
